Blank page when installing modules

Pressing the 'install' button in the module section returns a blank screen. I've tried going back to an older back-up, and checking if folders have the correct read/write permission, with no result unfortunately.
There can be many reasons. I think the reason is in some kind of module. Try to remove all modules through ftp and then add one at a time. This will tell you which module the problem is in.
