Hey, I recently came across this product and for a few hours now I have been just viewings community stuff like addons and the versions. I stayed on version one for stability but I was wondering since v2 has been in development for so long (I see posts going back to 2016 about it) if it was safe to migrate over at a production standpoint to gain advantage of all the themes and addons being developed for it. I know you should never use a non-stable release for production but all the advantages v2 has is making me question it.

I am currently using V2 pre-release 7 as production. I have yet to come across a game breaking bug.

Do bear in mind that there is still much not done, such as modules, so you might have difficulty getting the website exactly the way you want.

You can check out my website to see what I got it to do with the CESIUM theme, with some modifications. Visit my profile and under the about tab is my website link.

You would be 100% safe to use v2. At this point v1 really has not much support for templates and modules. V2 on the other hand has lots of support for modules and templates and new stuff is being added every so often. Of course you can always let us know if you find a issue by posting it on our github!

My next question is how easy is it to migrate over to version 2? I Already set up as much as I could with my v1 site and I would like it if I did not have to redo everything, although if I have to i would not mind.

Pretty easy.

  1. Delete all files in root directory
  2. Upload pre-release 7
  3. Click the button on the right I think (The one not marked new installation)
  4. Input new Database for pre-release 7
  5. Input old database from v1
  6. It will auto migrate over from old database to new database

Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
