I am a huge fan of the Nameless-Link Discord Bot. But I personally thought it was lacking some features and not that customizable.
So I decided to give it a fresh coat of paint so to speak by adding some features to it and tweaking how to configure it.
This requires the bot to be self-hosted. It works on both Linux and Windows as long as you got Java installed.
Here's a list of the "changes"
- Config.yml file instead of "export ....." in the startup parameters
- Added in a "server status checker" to display your server status as a Discord channel
- Added in a "Player Count" checker to display your server status as a Discord channel
- Added so that you can give new Discord members a default role when they first join the Discord server. So instead of being "@everyone", they can be a Member, Donator etc.
- Changed so that all commands are locked behind roles by default instead of being open to everyone
How to configure:
- Download the bot
- Run it (java -jar Nameless-Link.jar) - The bot will "crash" on first launch to generate the config file
- Edit the generated config file. A few fields are required. If the required fiends are not filled in, the bot will "crash" and tell you what fields you need to fill out
- Run the bot
Other than the changes I have listed here, the bot is the exact same as the official bot.
