Changelog:
If I use the built-in updater, would any custom code I wrote into the index.tpl or other pages be overwritten? Should I just simply back up my files, update, and then add the code back in, or would there be a better/easier way to handle this?

Go to the update page click the download button and it will download a zip file with the files updated, and DONT close the page. Backup you're files and then replace the normal files with the one u got in you're zip file.
After you are done doing that click the Update button :)
If you have custom code. just simply compare the custom coded one with the new file one. How to do that? i would just google up a text comparer.
IF you are updating and u open up you're page and its blank DO NOT panic :)
Just continue and follow the instructations

Ok thanks for your help! I figured I'd have to manually re-add my custom code, but I just wanted to be sure in case I could save some time.
