Updating to pre6

Hi, so everytime I try to update to pre6, I follow the steps exactly and for some reason it never works. Any guidance? It always messes up. Like the site transfered properly but my admin panel is gone
v2 has a StaffCP instead of the v1 AdminCP.
If you can't see it (at yoursite.com/index.php?route=/panel) then your group doesn't have the correct permissions. Make sure your user is in the default admin group (with ID 2) in your v1 installation.
