Minecraft account requirement

Is it possible to make it so there is a way that people can put in there minecraft username if they want to but if they dont they can leave that field blank and still register for an account so its therebut its not a requirement to and if they do sign up with a minecraft account they will be asked to verify it.
I am also very interested in this! Because I'm trying to turn it off! and after saving it automatically turns on again
